The H's

I would just like to say that I have never been so cold on a photo shoot before. It was frigid and windy. But aside from that, it was a beautiful day! And I had the great pleasure of working with a fun and beautiful family! They kept up their holiday spirit even as we were dashing in and out of the house to warm up.
Ella was a sweetie in her super cute red skirt, and Owen was the ham for the day. He's the funniest kid in his class ( he told me so himself).
I am so lucky to have gotten to work with such a wonderful family.
Merry Christmas!

Joseph Sams School Dinner, Dance, and Auction

There is a school here in Georgia just for kids with special needs. It's called the Joseph Sams school, and it is a wonderful place. Special needs children get special care and attention here in order for them to lead the happiest and fullest life they possibly can. It's a wonderful place full of wonderful people and they have made the lives of so many children so much better.
They are a non-profit organization and hold many fundraisers throughout the year. This weekend is their biggest. The Joseph Sams Dinner, Dance and Auction is a night of fun and festivities hosting over 400 people. I was lucky enough to be asked to donate to the auction this year and I was grateful to oblige.
Children with special needs are a treasure and I am happy to do what I can to support such a fantastic school. If you would like to give to the Joseph Sams School or would like to find out more information about them, please visit their website:http://www.josephsamsschool.org

The O's

What a wonderful family. Genuinely happy, loving family.
I met the O's through the MDO program that my kids are in. Mary ( the youngest) is in the same class as my kids.  My kids love Mary, so I figured the rest of Mary's family was just as great and I was right!
We had such a great time at the park. I can't tell you the last time I had so much fun with kids other than my own. I think the pictures turned out fabulous. I hope they love them as much as I do!

Home Sweet Home

This is my childhood home. Yep, that's right, I grew up in a log cabin in the middle of the country. I never knew how good I had it.

I love going home for visits. Which is what we did this past weekend. We could not have timed it any better. My parents got 6 inches of snow a couple days before we got there. It gave the kids the opportunity to really play in the wintry mix for the first time. They sledded down the driveway, they built a snowman, they threw snowballs. They had a blast.
They also got up at 5am everyday.Something about the country that makes them do it I think.

I on the other hand had a great time photographing Dad's vineyards. For those who don't know, my parents own and operate their own winery.

Yes, that means free wine for me. I am a lucky girl.

Anyway, the snow and ice was beautiful and we all had a great time catching up with my family. I can't wait to go back.

Triple Delight

Oh my goodness! The sweetness times 3! I could have sat around and just held these sweet babies all day. Their momma is a member of the multiples club that I am also a part of . She and her husband just brought home their newborn triplets just a few weeks after they were born. Anyone who knows how challenging a triplet pregnancy can be knows that it is such a miracle that all three babies are home so early.

If there is anything more challenging than a triplet pregnancy, its taking care of them once they all come home. I have experienced it myself with twins, but I witnessed  the craziness of it all over again.  It is a non stop whirlwind of bottles, pacifiers, and diapers and Kelly and Kurt are holding on tight!
The babies are beautiful and Mom and Dad are still kicking, but I am coming back soon to bring over dinner and maybe even a nap.

What's with all the stuff?

Some of you may have noticed the 3 different links on the Home page of JodieMo.com. Well, let me explain those.

I get bored pretty easily, so in order to keep myself interested, I have several passions that I practice on frequesnt occasion.

The first is Sewing which is my hands on creative outlet. There is nothing better than actually making something from practically nothing. It's a joy for me to create things with others in mind and it comes with the added bonus of giving me some welcome relaxation at the end of a long day.

The second is Cooking. I have always loved to cook. I feel like I have been doing it my whole life. While in the past I have cooked many a fancy dinner, I currently am focused on more family friendly fare. I love to share my meals with the world and I do very often.

Lastly, there is Photography. My passion and joy since the very beginning. I feel like I have been taking pictures my entire life, long before I ever had a camera. My hope is to one day make this a sustainable career. My one real goal is to turn the thing I love the most into a career I can enjoy with the world.

Hello World!

Hello World!!

I am not new to the blogging world, but this blog is. I hope to showcase all of the goings on of J. Morgan Photography here for your viewing pleasure. You'll find client previews, seasonal specials, and the odd tidbit of useless information.

I'm going to start off with little Baby M. Baby M is about a week old and she is lucky to have a very proud big sister.  I had such a wonderful time working with such a precious bundle. That new baby smell gets me every time. Baby M was really into what was going on and did not want to sleep, but her Mom and I were able to keep her happy and get some great shots!
